Lake Niedersonthofen

Waltenhofen (700-1.063 m) and the lakeside villages of Martinszell, Memhölz and Niedersonthofen form the area known collectively as "Lake Niedersonthofen health resort". Whether you visit in Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter, your stay will be an unforgettable experience.

At the foot of the Stoffelberg mountain (1.063 m) Lake Niedersonthofen (known by the locals as "Nieso" ), with its lush fields and green woods, offers health, fitness and bathing possibilities - 162 hectares of clear water for swimming, rowing, sailing, wind-surfing and angling. Four official beaches with practical changing possibilities are available to our bathing guests. In Oberdorf and Niedersonthofen you will also find beach volleyball pitches. For campers there are 2 well appointed camp-sites directly on the lakeside.
In Winter, too, the lake has a special charm. On cold winter days the frozen lake offers excellent conditions for ice-skating and walks across the ice.

We particularly recommend a walk around the lake,( about 10 km) with ample opportunities to drop in somewhere for a drink or a snack along the way.
